The Wildlife Conservation Society and Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus hope the English Microfiction Challenge will inspire young Malaysians to think critically about conservation issues and to write creatively in English. It is hoped these youngsters’ short stories written in English and relating to conservation themes will go on to touch others and to raise awareness of the importance of conservation in our lives not only in Malaysia, but also around the world.

The purpose of the Wildlife Conservation Swinburne Sarawak English Microfiction Challenge is to:
  • Encourage the writers to think about conservation while using the English Language and
  • Promote the use of conservation themes in the creative arts.
